YourDoula childbirth preparation classes are informative, fun and hands on. I teach 3 classes at your home. This 3 week series includes all aspects of labor and delivery:
Each class is about 2 hours long, the cost is $175.00 for the 3 classes
I travel to your home, and I am available weeknights and weekends. I cover the Westside, including Santa Monica, Venice, Pacific Palisades, Culver City and West Hollywood, the Valley, Redondo Beach as well as Manhattan Beach

I
am passionate about my calling as a certified childbirth educator and
labor support Doula. I have been serving the Los Angeles community as
an educator and a Doula since 2000. I teach privately and also at a
local Westside clinic and at Kaiser Permanente in Irvine.
It is
my mission to empower women and their partners so they may fully
experience the birth of their baby. As an educator, I help couples
obtain the knowledge necessary to make informed choices regarding mom’s
care and the care of their baby. I strongly believe that women possess
the ability to give birth with confidence, strength and grace.
My
prenatal classes are hands on, give evidence-based information that
includes but is not limited to anatomy, the labor process, comfort
measures and breathing, as well as nutrition, relaxation techniques,
medications used in labor and interventions.
The classes are
small (maximum 5 couples) and personal. The series of classes runs for
five weeks, each class is 2 1/2 hours long, and include a Labor Manual.
Classes blend interactive participation with relaxation exercises and
plenty of time for questions.
The fifth class is a breastfeeding class given by Amy Kahan, IBCLC

This
unique
interactive "Get Together" prepares expectant dads for the birth of their
baby. Dads learn how to support their partner through labor and
birth. New dads can meet other new dads and share everything they have
learned since the birth of their baby.
Dads can openly talk to other dads about their
hopes, expectations, and any concerns they have about the birth of
their baby. As an educator, I can answer questions they may have
regarding the birth process, and I can demonstrate comfort measures that will help when their partner is in labor.
These "Get Togethers" are 2 1/2 hours long and take place at Innovative Baby in Marina Del Rey.
As
a certified childbirth educator, I have written a Pregnancy, Labor and
Birth Guide. The guide is easy to read, and covers many aspects of
childbirth, including: the Physiology of Pregnancy, The Baby's Birth,
Comfort and Support, and Creating a Birth Plan.
As
a postpartum doula, I have also written "Our Postpartum Guide". This guide is for new parents, and contains helpful info about
newborn care, troubleshooting, and vaccinations, and much more!.
