I
am the mother of three grown children, and I have been working as a doula for over ten years. I work in my community with other health care professionals to ensure expectant moms and dads make a smooth transition into parenthood. Couples can be prepared before the baby's arrival by taking prenatal childbirth preparation classes, Baby Care Classes, and meet with a lactation consultant.
I
am also available to help put the nursery and the baby's layette together.
Because Labor Support and Childbirth Preparation are my passion, I have started a "Meet-up" group. I meet once a month with pregnant moms at Santa Monica Beach and we walk for about 1 hour. There is no better way to get exercise, chat, share stories and ask questions!!
I am a labor support doula. I provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to women during their pregnancy and labor. I am a constant companion during the birth of their baby. I provide information, comfort measures and relaxation techniques enabling laboring women and their partners to make informed choices regarding their care and the care of their baby.
There are three different YourDoula Childbirth Packages: In devising a plan that works best for people, I have come up with the following packages:
1. The basic Labor Doula package:

In
the few weeks after a woman delivers her baby, she will need
encouragement, help and support. For most mothers, this is a trying
time, especially when family is far away and women don't have a mom or
a sister around the corner. Women are getting used to their new role
as mothers, and newborns are learning all about their moms! Getting
into a routine can be very daunting, tiring and frustrating.
As a
postpartum doula, I visit mother at home and help her get situated.
Simple tasks like cooking a meal, doing a load of laundry or walking
the family dog can be difficult when a new mother is sleep deprived. As
a postpartum doula I will make these everyday chores easier. I help
with basic baby care and any breastfeeding
issues that may arise. I have a wealth of information and the knowledge
and experience necessary to facilitate the transition from pregnancy to
motherhood.
